Who We Are
The Friends of RSCL is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting our library as community resource. Volunteer members advocate, educate and raise funds on behalf of the Roaring Spring Community Library.
What We Do
The Friends of the Roaring Spring Community Library were established to support library initiatives and operations. We offer memberships to Library Supporters allowing individuals to join us to advocate on behalf of the library and serve the library as volunteers. The Friends supplement the library budget by sponsoring fundraisers and offering book sales. The Friends are always looking for new ways to support the library and the community at large.
Friend’s dollars have provided funding for the following
- Funding summer reading programs.
- Adopted the Library Electric bill
- Sponsor baskets for A Novel Affair Dinner and Silent Auction
- Fund DVD purchases
- Continuing Education for staff members
The Friends have a long history of proving volunteers and support for library events.
- Summer Reading
- Silent Auction
- Healthy Kids Day
- Relay for Life
- Processing and shelving materials
- Assisting with fund drives
- Created the Book Cellar
- Established Online Booksales
- Developed Kids and Klaus
In all these ways the Friends have helped the library maintain a welcoming education facility for the community.
